Our free "Thank you" Gospel tract
Why use it? Where you could leave it

Our free "Thank you" Gospel tract

"Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest." John 4:35

Why did we produce it?

Originally an idea by Tony Miano in the United States, you can view the original printed design here: https://onemilliontracts-com.3dcartstores.com/Thank-You-Gospel-Tract-100ct-pckg-2-x-3-12_p_23.html

The "Thank you" tract is useful for specific encounters - such as after purchasing something in a shop, or giving to someone who has done you a service. But the main aim is that it is for someone who has served you in some way.

Small enough to fit in a wallet this printed Gospel card is easy to carry around. Like the "Free Gift" printed Tract - it is easy to build it into your everyday life.

What to do with it / where to leave it

"whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31

Do you order takeouts? When you visit the place to pick it up, or if they deliver to your house, why not give this card to the person who serves you? Why not order from a different place each time you do a takeout? That way a different person receives the card.

Do you take a bus journey? Give one to the bus driver as you exit the vehicle "Thank you - this is for you (place on the shelf where you normally leave your payment)"

Do you take a train journey? Give one to the person who sells you your ticket (don't use a machine) "Thank you - this is for you "

Who knocks at your door? Pass one to the delivery driver "Hear is something for you to read on your break" The same could be said to a cold caller - I love it when the cold caller comes to the door - we have actually had a cold caller request a Bible before, and even some of them have been Christian - a great opportunity to encourage them to use Gospel tracts themselves.

Write to your MP and local councillor This idea literally just came to me while writing this article. But why not send your MP and local councillor a greetings card? Within, include the "Thank you" Tract! - I bet they don't get thanked enough for the good work they do for people.

Do you eat in at a restaurant? Give one to the various people who serve you at different stages of your experience.

School crossing worker Don't cross over the road alone. Cross with the happy school crossing worker and give them the tract!

Visiting a doctor or nurse? If you have not given one already, be sure to leave the thank you tract with health workers.

Do you go to the bank? Give one to the person who serves you. In fact, take them to every shop you go to. You will soon give large numbers away that way.

Another more personalised idea, would be to intentionally buy some thank you cards. Use these to add that extra layer of gratitude to your witness - even include a gift. Someone who does a repeated work for you - include the tract too if this is the first time to have that opportunity. Not give the tract multiple times.

Remember, wherever you go to take tracts with you. Especially for when you get served in shops you have not visited before. It might be worth checking there is a good fellowship nearby to where you are going - in case you need to "plug people in" to have follow up with other Christians.

Testimonial

"The checkout staff don't want their ear bent by someone peddling 'religion' (especially when there's a queue of people behind you). But it is so easy to just hand the card after they've given the till receipt. With a quick 'thank you & here's a free gift for you.'
So far it's always been greeted by a very positive 'thank you.' I also leave them on several places round the supermarket for people to pickup. It's quite easy to pop a corner of the card in the plastic strip on the front edge of the shelf where the price tickets go. The other people who've responded positively - the Covid door staff. These cards are so useful for these places where a longer conversation isn't possible. At least you can leave them with a good consise message."

Take it one step further

"consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works" Hebrews 10:24

Don't forget to encourage other Christians to use these too! - Show them how easy they are to use, or share with them a story of how you have used them. Tell them they can request them free through the detail on each tract. Point them to this article to show them how useful the tract is and where they could place them.

Speak with your pastor too to see if he might encourage folks in the work.

Remember to pray about them before and after, that you might be led where the Lord would have you go. That He might prepare hearts to read them and work in them and their household.
